A group of elementary school kids would sit around in a circle. There was an even amount of male and female alternating next to each other. In the center was an empty bottle which was spun around by the first person who did so. Whoever the bottle pointed to, that person would have to kiss them, unless it was the same sex. The last two male and female left were the winners and had the final kiss together. This was a popular game among that age group at house parties. It was known as "spin the bottle". Some of the kids were impressed with their kisses as others weren't. A natural reaction of course. The game was forgotten by most as they grew into teenagers and then young adults. However it came back to life some twenty years later at a nightclub bar. Kenny stared at the girl sitting next to him and remembered his first kiss. He took his empty beer bottle and spun it around on the counter in front of her. Karen watched it as she looked at him which triggered a memory of twenty years ago. It pointed to her as she smiled with a few tears in her eyes. He kissed her for the second time as their cheeks mingled tears together. Old times were talked about until the present time was caught up on. One year later they sat together as the bride and groom as the guests raised their glasses and cheered. She spun her empty bottle of beer and it pointed to him. Many kisses were shared after that event with no bottle needed....Maybe we have a childhood game where some first kisses are shared, but never forgotten. Case in point in a short love story about Kenny and Karen, where a game determines how we may end up together again. And so we spin the bottle.....
