Becky inherited the farm from her now deceased dad. At forty years old, she was familiar with how things needed to be done there. Growing up and working on the farm, she knew how to maintain the upkeep and finances along with taking care of the animals. Forty two year old Benny was passing through the small town in Nebraska and needed directions to get to a certain hotel for his summer vacation. He pulled off of the main road as he spotted a farmhouse in the distance. A small winding dirt road led to that place he needed to go to. Becky was sitting on her front porch that Saturday afternoon and watched a car stop in front of her home. The stranger approached the wooden steps to her front porch and began to speak. "Can you direct me to the Sheridan Hotel from here"? "Four miles down the road get off at exit 25, then make a right and go one block. You will see it right there". "Want something to eat or drink before you leave"? she asked him. "Thank you so much, I sure would" he replied. Becky fixed Benny lunch as he stayed for an hour as they ate and talked together. There was a nice connection made between them as he finally left and waved goodbye before getting into his car. She waved back and smiled. Three weeks later after his vacation was over, he checked out at 12 PM. Benny pulled off the main road on his return trip back to New York. It wasn't however to get directions this time. The purpose was to visit someone he felt very special about. She invited him in for a late lunch as he accepted. It turned out to be a dinner included as the two of them just didn't want to leave each other again. A sleep over sealed the emotions that were felt as they both woke up in each others arms. He never made it back to New York and decided at her request to move in with her. Becky and Benny now live there as husband and wife. Maybe we need a return trip to solve the need to a true destination. Case in point in a short love story about Becky and Benny, and a permanent return trip....
