My book is up on Amazon/Borders.com and such but "Books a Million" does not carry it. I heard that it is a preferred Site now for buyers, especially smaller ones. Anyone have luck with that distribution?

My dilemna with writing is that I can't seem to find a way to contain the piles of paper that accumulate as soon as I get one idea, then it seems to grow, add research and then drafts... well you see where I am going. I have tried to scan items, written or photo and its a good idea but not always touchable, reliable. Are there systems, techniques that are helping other writers that have a need for visual organization. Thanks, GJ, art2share

I did a six month research project that had so much via highlighter, tab sticker, and word doc that made my head spin. Every week I had to update in a running notebook where various research was per chapter outline. I kept trying to streamline it so much that I was spending way too much time on process and not as much on follow-up. Finally I killed the less is more theme and lived with my big piles, just had many many big piles but according to the outline, sanity returned, at least my version of it...

<div>I came across a way for all us neglected authors to get noticed and do something noble at the same time. You donate a book to Operation Desert Swap and the book goes to a US military outfit overseas. Of course, you've got to agree to be a pen pal for up to 12 months, but that should be no problem utilizing email. If anybody else is interested, go to the website listed below for details. </div><div> </div><div>Operation Desert Swap</div><div>http://operationdesertswap.webs.com</div>

A recent survey showed at least 15 million Americans had completed some creative writing in any given year. Some of them had completed a book entirely. With publishing industry continues to find its next best seller, the competition to enter the industry is getting increasingly difficult. Many agents are no longer review unsolicited manuscripts and most traditional publishers have shun submissions from new authors altogether.
It is debatable whether the quality of book publishing is on the decline but it is true that many big publishing houses are chasing after celebrities and well-known authors. It is difficult for new authors to get noticed. The purpose of this group is to help unpublished authors and self-published authors to improve writing skills, locate an agent who is passionate about your work, and even find a publisher who review manuscript only based on the quality of your work not who you are or who you know. Please post ideas and writing samples! Group Tags
